SGPA to CGPA Calculator
What Is SGPA to CGPA Conversion?
The SGPA to CGPA calculator computes your Cumulative Grade Point Average from multiple semester SGPAs. CGPA represents your overall academic performance across all completed semesters, weighted by credit hours. This calculation is essential for final transcripts, graduation requirements, and applications requiring cumulative academic standing.
CGPA Calculation Formula
Each semester's contribution is proportional to its credit load. Semesters with more credits have greater impact on your cumulative average.
Example Calculation
Calculating CGPA from 4 Semesters
Sem 1: SGPA 7.5, Credits 22 → Points = 165
Sem 2: SGPA 8.0, Credits 24 → Points = 192
Sem 3: SGPA 8.2, Credits 23 → Points = 188.6
Sem 4: SGPA 8.5, Credits 25 → Points = 212.5
Total Points: 165 + 192 + 188.6 + 212.5 = 758.1
Total Credits: 22 + 24 + 23 + 25 = 94
CGPA = 758.1 ÷ 94 = 8.07

- Some universities exclude certain courses (remedial, audit) from CGPA; this calculator includes all entered data.
- Credit hours must be accurate; incorrect credits will produce wrong CGPA values.
- Universities may apply rounding rules (round up at 0.5) that differ from mathematical rounding.
- Backlog or failed subjects may be handled differently by your institution.
- For official CGPA, always refer to your university's student portal or registrar.
